February 5 - February 12
The Agua Boa has once again delivered lights out fishing. Over the last 10 days the river has dropped over a foot and the sight fishing has been off the charts. As per usual the lagoons and interior lakes have produced large quantities of fish but the river has consistently offered opportunities to cast to cruising fish. In fact the upper beats have been fishing so well that the guides have been focusing exclusively on poling the river and stalking Peacocks on the beaches and shallows. Once again we must commend the quality of our guides to produce such an awesome fishing experience in these great conditions. They're the best in the Amazon!
The Peacocks have once again raised havoc on the anglers and their gear. So far this week we have had nine broken rods which may be a new camp record. Speaking of camp records we congratulate Scott Reinhold from Green Bay, for tying the most flies in preparation for his trip here to the Agua Boa Amazon Lodge. Scott's record can't be scored in terms of ones, twos or dozens but it can only be calculated in pounds. Yes indeed Scott tied nine pounds worth of whistles and streamers. Way to go Scott!
Thank you for checking the Agua Boa fishing report and we look forward to seeing you here.

Predictably the week of January 28- February 4th offered consistent fishing for the anglers here at the Agua Boa Amazon Lodge. With a mix of returnees and newbies everyone enjoyed the hard fighting tug of the Peacocks. Speaking of hard fighting, the Peacocks won this week in the tackle wars, shredding lines, destroying flies and yes breaking 5 rods, a season high.
Speaking of season highs, Fred Novy was the first to tip the scales over 20lbs in 2012. Fred not only landed a 20 pounder, but he also put the screws to an acrobatic 18 pounder later that same day. However Fred’s fishing partner Joe Hall could not let Fred get back to camp with all the glory, so Joe became the first sport angler in lodge history to dive in and retrieve a Boga Grip from the mouth of a fish that had escaped the grips of the guide. Way to go guys, and Peacocks beware the Illinois Boys will be back next year.
Thank you for checking the Agua Boa Amazon Lodge fishing report and check back next week for updates.

January 21 - 28, 2012
The fishing continues to to impress anglers at the Agua Boa Amazon Lodge. Despite the fact that the river came up a foot this week due to heavy rains last Saturday and Sunday, the fish have continued to be aggressive. Although the sight fishing has not been consistent, there have been opportunities daily. In fact most of the large fish landed this week were caught sight fishing. This fact must be followed up by crediting the awesome guide staff here at the Agua Boa. Their eagerness to spend the day poling and hunting large fish is a reminder why there are the best in the Amazon. Great work guys!!!
On a personal note it was great to spend another splendid week fishing with Paul Lavins. Great fishing with you again Paul and I look forward to our next adventure. Enjoy the picture of Paul being greeted after a day of fishing.
Thanks for checking the Aqua Boa Amazon Lodge Fishing Report and we look forward to fishing with you here in the future.

- Paul Lavins after a great day!
January 14-21, 2012
2012 has started off with a bang at the Aqua Boa Amazon Lodge. The week of January 14-21, 2012 has offered great fishing for all and yielded large fish daily. Starting off the week with med-high water levels, the river dropped over a foot throughout the week. Despite the higher water levels there was some opportunity for sight fishing, but generally blind casting along the beaches or in lagoons was the recipe for the week. Accordingly the fishing required a mix of floating lines and sinking lines to get the job done. Although the elusive 20lb mark was not achieved this week, fish over 15lb’s was a daily occurrence at the Lodge.
On a personal note it is great to be back at the Lodge, not only for the fishing and the beauty, but to get to work with such a great staff. Thank you guides and staff!
Thank you for reading the Agua Boa fishing report and check back for weekly updates and photos.
