The fishing continues to to impress anglers at the Agua Boa Amazon Lodge. Despite the fact that the river came up a foot this week due to heavy rains last Saturday and Sunday, the fish have continued to be aggressive. Although the sight fishing has not been consistent, there have been opportunities daily. In fact most of the large fish landed this week were caught sight fishing. This fact must be followed up by crediting the awesome guide staff here at the Agua Boa. Their eagerness to spend the day poling and hunting large fish is a reminder why there are the best in the Amazon. Great work guys!!!
On a personal note it was great to spend another splendid week fishing with Paul Lavins. Great fishing with you again Paul and I look forward to our next adventure. Enjoy the picture of Paul being greeted after a day of fishing.

January 14-21, 2012
2012 has started off with a bang at the Aqua Boa Amazon Lodge. The week of January 14-21, 2012 has offered great fishing for all and yielded large fish daily. Starting off the week with med-high water levels, the river dropped over a foot throughout the week. Despite the higher water levels there was some opportunity for sight fishing, but generally blind casting along the beaches or in lagoons was the recipe for the week. Accordingly the fishing required a mix of floating lines and sinking lines to get the job done. Although the elusive 20lb mark was not achieved this week, fish over 15lb’s was a daily occurrence at the Lodge.
On a personal note it is great to be back at the Lodge, not only for the fishing and the beauty, but to get to work with such a great staff. Thank you guides and staff!
