Lodge BackgroundThe first lodge built on the Agua Boa river was situated at the end of the current runway at the Lodge. During these days the small Lodge could accommodate 6 guests and fishing by any method was allowed.
In 2001 the construction of the new lodge, The Royal Amazon Lodge, commenced, and was completed in 2003. It was during this period that the then owner took the decision to make the Agua Boa river “Fly Fish Only”, this is when it became fly fish only.
In 2007, the Lodge as it stands today was purchased by the current owner, Lance Ranger. It was at this time that the name of the Lodge was changed to its current name, the “Agua Boa Amazon Lodge”. The new owner is absolutely committed to maintaining the Agua Boa river as a “Fly Fish Only” destination.
