Commonly called Tiger Sorubim (Psuedoplatystoma fasciatum.) This species can be seen during daylight hours on the sand flats and can be taken by legitimate fly fishing but they are easily spooked so care and stealth is required.
I have observed two body pattern varieties which have been caught on the Agua Boa.
